"Make It To Me"
My mind runs away to you
With the thought I hope you'll see
Can't see where it's wandered to
But I know where it wants to be
I'm waiting patiently though time is moving slow
I have one vacancy and I wanted you to know that
You're the one designed for me
A distant stranger that I will complete
I know you're out there we're meant to be
So keep your head up and make it to me
And make it to me
So sick of this lonely air
It seems such a waste of breath
So much that I need to say
So much to get off my chest
I'm waiting patiently though time is moving slow
I have one vacancy and I wanted you to know that
You're the one designed for me
A distant stranger that I will complete
I know you're out there we're meant to be
So keep your head up and make it to me
Make it to me
Make it to me
Make it to me

The song writer Sam Smith wrote this song to and about his loved one. His mind is always on this person and he wants them to realize that he loves them more than words can explain. This person is the one designed for him and only him. He doesn't want anyone else but them and he will not settle. He’s sick of being alone and wants to be with them for the rest of his life. This song has an emotional feeling to it and has personification, rhyme, figurative language, alliteration and repetition. In the first line “my mind runs away to you” is personification because your mind can’t really run away. “Can’t see where it’s wandered to” is personification because you can’t see where your mind wanders to either, along with “lonely air”.There is some rhyming in the song with “me” and “be”. The figurative language is used in the lines “keep our head up”, “distant stranger”, “I’m waiting patiently” and “get off my chest”. These words are used to give more of an undertsanding and image of what is happening. There is alliteration in the lines “through time” and “so sick”. There is repetition in the song especially in the last lines “make it to me” when it is said three times to end the song.
Sam Smith wrote this song to give a deeper meaning of what he is feeling. He puts his emotions through the song.
